I blog to communicate my fashion ideas to the world.

How are you feeling right now?
I’m feeling extremely depressed right now because one of my day jobs has become a war zone.

What change, big or small, would you like your blog to make in the world?
The small change I’d like my blog “Every Day Style: Fashion for the Mainstream” to make is to reflect that anyone can look good if they put in a little effort every day and maintain a workable wardrobe.

How would you describe yourself to someone?
I would describe myself as a nice, witty, well-dressed individualist who works very hard.

What do you listen to while you work?
I like to listen to Sam Cooke and the Soul Stirrers singing gospel.

What bothers you and why?
While I often have the patience of Job, the challenges posed by my daily obstacles from SLE Lupus bothers me incessantly. The fatigue and pain caused by arthritis makes my life difficult and frustrating. Still, I keep on keeping on despite this.

Which food, when you eat it, instantly transports you to childhood?
The food I’d eat that instantly transports me to childhood is jello. I still love it and it’s one of my favorites.

Who is your favorite historical figure?
My favorite historical figure is Coco Chanel. Not only did she liberate women from uncomfortable clothing she also created a fashion house that’s still going strong!

How do you want to retire?
I want to retire at a good place with my health and having made a difference during my service at LAUSD as a Special Education Instructional Assistant. After my formal retirement, from the district, I’d like to become a substitute teacher, continue writing, and contributing to the fashion industry within the traditional and computerized genres.

Who do you spend the most time with?
I spend the most time with my cat Zombie. Even when he gets on my nerves by playing too rough my time with him is still the best part of my day because we love each other so much.

Describe one simple thing you do that brings joy to your life.
The one simple thing I do that brings joy to my life is play in my closet and coordinate.

How do you know when it’s time to unplug? What do you do to make it happen?
I know it’s time to unplug when I feel overwhelmed by technology and social media information. To unplug, I either write in my journal or read an escapist piece of literature like Atlas Shrugged.
